Initial Setup
- Download the Media Buddy app
- Launch the app (it stays in your system tray)
- In Settings, set your folders:
- Monitor Folder: Where you rip your media to
- TV Shows Folder: Your media library TV Shows folder
- Movies Folder: Your media library Movies folder
Process Files
There are two ways you can process your media files:
- Run on demand by clicking the 'Run Now' button
- Wait for ~15 seconds once a file is placed in the Monitor Folder for automatic processing to initiate

App Activity
Media Buddy is transparent about what it does:
- Only monitors your specified folder
- Only processes video files (.mp4, .mkv, etc.)
- Never reads or modifies video content
- Never accesses system files or other folders
- Email notifications use your own SMTP server
- Stores email credentials locally, encrypted
- Collects minimal anonymous data: machine ID (random identifier), app version, technical preview status
